What is sacrilegious when the scars inside of my outer casing sound like a prayer I once recited? Looked like a bleeding cross wielded as a weapon. Devotion is a response to lines of biblical scripture that frame the bodies of non-men as shameful. The photo negative from my project Mother Mary becomes a cyanotype, overlaying and framing selected pages from various catholic bibles. Words are revealed highlighting suppression of gender expression and natural bodily processes. While the biblical texts  refer to the role and place of the woman, their effects seep out, reaching those beyond the binary.
